Kennelly – Avalon Tree house

One of my favourite parts of every project is viewing the photos of the completed house. By then all the hassles involved with council approval and building are fading into our collective memories, and everyone involved can enjoy the result of their efforts.

This spectacular site offers excellent views over Pittwater, and also features many beautiful spotted gums which the owners and the council were keen to retain.

Careful design enabled the retention of the all the significant trees, while accommodating a large family home, and a separate secondary dwelling.

The trees provide excellent protection from the westerly sun, and enhance rather than impact the views, while creating a back to nature tree house ambience.

Steel cladding and aluminium windows and doors keep maintenance to a minimum, while producing a crisp contemporary aesthetic.
